About
Five decades of internal medicine
Dr. Robert Collins has practiced internal medicine for close to 50 years after graduating cum laude from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completing his training at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is a long-term member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
Early in his career he served as chairman of the Utilization Review Department and as chief of medicine at JFK Medical Center, now HCA of South Florida. He later served as president of the medical staff for two years, during which he played a key role in the hospital’s acquisition of several medical practices to strengthen and consolidate its patient base.
In 2001 he left his group practice to become one of the earliest affiliated physicians with MDVIP, a provider of personalized concierge medical care, and helped the company grow to more than 1,500 affiliated physicians nationwide. In 2022 he retired from medical practice and became chief medical officer for Wells Pharmacy Network, a nationally recognized compounding pharmacy, where he remains actively involved.
