How we evaluate the science

Our standards for adopting new therapies

Axiva adopts a therapy only when the evidence supports it. Before any treatment enters our protocols, our medical leadership reviews the peer-reviewed literature, evaluates safety and candidacy, and defines how the therapy will be monitored. We favor treatments with published clinical research and established safety profiles over trends, and we are transparent about what the evidence does — and does not yet — show.

Every plan is supervised by a board-certified physician or advanced-practice provider, with dosing and follow-up tailored to the individual. As the science evolves, so do our protocols: we revisit our therapies against new research and adjust accordingly. This disciplined, evidence-first approach is why our patients can trust that the care they receive is grounded in medicine, not marketing.

Medical Weight Management

Medically supervised weight management at Axiva is built on GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy (such as semaglutide and tirzepatide), paired with nutrition guidance, body-composition tracking, and physician monitoring. In large peer-reviewed clinical trials, GLP-1 therapies have produced significant, sustained weight reduction compared with lifestyle changes alone.

GLP-1 receptor agonists
A class of medications (such as semaglutide and tirzepatide) that mimic a natural gut hormone to regulate appetite and blood sugar, used in medical weight management.
NAD+
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide — a coenzyme central to cellular energy production and DNA repair that naturally declines with age.
Nicotinamide riboside (NR / Niagen®)
A precursor the body converts into NAD+, used to support NAD+ levels.
Peptides
Short chains of amino acids that signal specific functions in the body, used in targeted regenerative and recovery protocols.
Bioidentical hormones (BHRT)
Hormones structurally identical to those the body produces, used to restore hormonal balance.
Lipotropic injection
A blend of B-vitamins and amino acids that supports fat metabolism, sometimes given alongside a weight program.
Bioavailability
The proportion of a nutrient or drug that actually reaches circulation — higher with IV/IM delivery than with most oral supplements.
IV / IM
Intravenous (into a vein) and intramuscular (into a muscle) delivery routes that bypass digestion for higher absorption.
Biostimulator
An injectable (such as Sculptra®) that stimulates the body to produce its own collagen over time.
Neuromodulator
An injectable (such as botulinum toxin) that temporarily relaxes targeted muscles to soften lines.
